A corporate move from New Jersey brought Ken and Nadine’s family to Minnesota where they immediately began searching for a home in the highly regarded Wayzata School District for their teenage sons who are standout lacrosse players.

To hear more from this family listen to their video testimonial:

After searching for new homes and resales, they even considered the possibility of a tear-down/re-build before they toured an NIH model home in Prominence Creek in Maple Grove.

“The things that drew us to this home were the open floor plan, large windows, wide staircases and wood finishes,” begins Ken. “It’s just beautifully done in neutral colors which matched our furnishings and fit our tastes, so we were able to move right in and hit the ground running.”

“I was also impressed by the entire NIH team from Alan Kortan our sales guy through Chad Skogquist, their project manager,” says Ken. “When we did our walk-thru, there were a few small items and touch-ups that were attended to the next morning at 8:00 am,” he continues. “Everyone was so friendly, responsive and outstanding to work with.”

Nadine talks about the home in terms of her family. “This home is perfect for our boys — especially the lower level which has turned out to be a magnet for their friends on Friday nights.” She also discussed the Prominence Creek neighborhood and all it has to offer their family. “There is a pool and clubhouse, Monday morning coffee, organized couples nights and all kinds of activities going on all the time,” says Nadine. “The day we moved in, our neighbors were at our door gathering information about our kids,” says Nadine. “The next week, we were in their directory.”

Busy with school, sports and work schedules, Ken and Nadine found one of the best features of their home was the drop zone off the garage. “There are cubbies for the boys’ stuff, plug-ins for our cell phone chargers and even a paper shredder,” says Ken. “It was all build so very thoughtfully.”

“NIH did think of everything,” says Nadine. “They even gave us a very comprehensive book that identifies paint colors, wood finishes, appliances and contact information for all of their subcontractors, so we know who to go to when we need something done.” Ken especially likes having the floor plans and schematics included in the book. “To have the drawings has been great since we didn’t get to build the home ourselves,” he says.

Now Ken talks to his colleagues about building with NIH Homes, too. “We absolutely love this home,” he says. “From the day we met the sales team to follow-up items, we have been totally satisfied, and I would build with these guys in a second if we were ever to move again. In fact, I’ve recommended NIH to a number of people who are looking to build a home right now. Talk about a vote of confidence — we couldn’t be happier.”
