ROSEVILLE, MINN. (September, 2012) — For almost 20 years, the BATC Foundation has tapped the talents and resources of Builders Association of the Twin Cities (BATC) member builders, remodelers, and suppliers to help families who otherwise might not have the opportunity to have a safe and affordable home.
Every Parade of Homes event, the Foundation chooses a few Parade HomesSM to become Dream Homes and Dream Remodeled Homes. These million-dollar homes and whole-house remodels showcase the latest and best designs, features, finishes and products. The Dream Homes are the Foundation’s biggest fund-raiser, asking visitors to pay $5.00 at the door to tour. Funds go entirely to help the Foundation build, remodel, and repair homes for Twin Cities families in need, often in partnership with local charities and organizations.

Jablonski Accessibility Project
Two of our member remodelers, Awad & Koontz Architects Builders and Kuhl Design & Build, are completing a major remodel of the home of Jack Jablonski, a high school sophomore who took a paralyzing hit during a hockey game last December. Jack has been an inspiration to so many as he has demonstrated incredible strength and spirit in his recovery. The Foundation is proud to have a part in this project by managing the donations and funding process.
North Minneapolis Home Repairs
The Foundation began what they hope is a long-term partnership with Rebuilding Together Twin Cities earlier this year. The first projects were with builder partner, Ironwood Carpentry LLC, and consisted of repairing three North Minneapolis homes. These repairs were needed for the safety and well being of the families who live there.

Noah Gordon Project
This brave Iraq war veteran sustained a traumatic brain injury (TBI) as well as multiple other injuries while serving in Kuwait in 2003. The Foundation, with builder partner, Soderbeck Design and Construction, Inc., will provide much needed repairs and updates to his home to help him continue living independently.
Project for Pride in Living Partnership
This, the Foundation’s second project in partnership with Project for Pride in Living, is a major repair project for a woman in Minneapolis. Within a year of purchasing the home in 2003, it became apparent that the home had a number of problems that had been covered up cosmetically. This project will include repairing damage, correcting the problems, and mitigating lead and radon issues.
