Today, Larry’s three sons, Jeremy, Chad and Colt have joined him as NIH Homes continues the Skogquist tradition of building exceptional custom homes across the northwest metro area.
For Larry and his sons, NIH Homes is much more than a family business…it is an ongoing commitment to delivering on the promise of hand crafting only the finest custom homes. NIH Homes’ size enables us to continue our personal approach to the design process, working closely with you through every step of the process.
For every member of the NIH Homes family, customer satisfaction is the driving force behind a company that draws upon years of home building experience as it moves into the future as NIH Homes.
Woman-centric homes intuitively appeal to women. There are four primary aspects that are important to women when selecting a home plan: flexible living spaces; entertaining; storage; and de-stressing areas. Because of the livability of woman-centric homes, the homes are popular with men, too. NIH Homes is proud to be an exclusive Woman-Centric Matterssm homebuilder, tailoring our entire way of doing business to the woman’s perspective. Throughout our years of homebuilding, NIH Homes has received many awards for our excellence. Here are some of the most recent:
2007
- 2 Trillium awards from the Builders Association of Twin Cities
- Award of Excellence from the Suburban Northwest Builders Association
2006
- 2 Trillium awards and a Reggie award from the Builders Association of Twin Cities
NIH Homes is an award-winning homebuilder, giving you added assurance that NIH Homes is more than just another homebuilder. NIH Homes is the RIGHT homebuilder to make your new home dreams a reality.

“They have the building process down to a science."
"We had never built a home and never thought we would,” relates Kyle. “We’d heard so many horror stories and didn’t want to go through it. However, we couldn’t be more pleased with our experience. NIH gave us a notebook of whom to call and when to call them. It was very thorough and easy to follow.”
Kyle says they built a rambler on 2.5 acres. “We love the floor plan. The downstairs is perfect for our teenagers to sprawl out. That couldn’t have turned out better. The house is great for entertaining.”
